Also bought the desktop version! The only thing I would want more of are pre designed templates and text art, please!

I use this app everyday, it’s the best! I would love to see some updates to it maybe to use AI, that would make me happiest.

Very easy to use

This is a nice, easy to use, comic book creation application. It’s just quick and dirty enough to whip out stuff quickly, yet concise enough to make more complex work.

I think I was reborn in Comic Life in 2002-03..? I have very simple presentation purposes for this program and l’ve never not had at least one of my computers running a version of this valuable tool. A testament to the agility & responsiveness of the developers is that this product still thrives in an environment of saas clones, clowns and dead end-ware (imho).

Been using Graphic Converter its seems like forever. My go-to graphic app.

Comic life is a phenomenal app. it’s simple and easy to use. especially for someone that is just starting.

Sure, this app is great as a tool for educational motivation. BUT it is a fantastic platform for serious cartoonists as well. I create my art in Adobe Fresco,vIllustrator, and/or Procreate and import the images into Comic Life for page layout, balloons, lettering… scripting… It’s just amazing. Sure, there is always room for improvement, but for the money this app is the way to go.

I love Comic Life 3. It’s made assembling a comic book so much easier than ever before. It’s got a bit of a learning curve & a few hiccups with the features, but it’s still the best tool on the market specifically designed for making a comic book or graphic novel. And considering it costs the same as a single comic book does currently, you’ve got nothing to lose.

Other apps allow fonts to be added to them, but Comic Life 3 doesn’t. Otherwise, it works pretty well.

It just deleted a school project when we closed the app. Is there any way to get it back?

Had this been free with the current bugs present, it would not have been a big issue, the fact I paid for this, and it is buggy, difficult and inconvenient to use- is frustrating. It does not save pages for logging named comics they merge on top of eachother. Outlines stuck on new page and I find myself refreshing the app, CONSTANTLY. Please update

Good but needs a bit more

I was a really big fan of the original comic life, which was very cool, but it stoped working so I needed to get this. I have a lot of trouble writing stuff though, I press the text boxes and all I can do is reshape it, delete it, or copy it. I feel like there should be something in the little black box above it, that says “write” or “text,” so I can be able to write. So far, the template thing also seems to look way too much like the Pages template thing. So far, Comic Life 3 has been good, but there is lots of room for improvement.

I originally bought Comic Draw as a tool for creating graphic novels, but I found the sketching and inking tools in Procreate were much better. The last straw for Comic Draw was the lack of even a basic grid to help with reference and alignments. So bought this app thinking it would be a better companion to Procreate. The idea was I could script and layout my panels, export page layouts to Procreate, sketch and ink my art, export the page as an image, and import back into Comic Life to add page textures and text. It works great... for the first page in the Comic. What ruins what could be an otherwise good workflow is that while Comic Draw can export an individual page as an image to another app. Comic Life only supports the ability to export the first page in the comic. I can’t find anyway to work around this.

Hi, I’ve started using your program recently, and it’s great! I have a couple of requests... Could you give us an option to make a custom page size, along with the option to have a transparent background? I try to export the speech balloons to my art program (on my iPad), but the JPEG makes it too blurry and the paper dimensions are inaccurate. I use this app to add speech balloons and effects to an already existing comic (image), but once it’s saved, the quality drops. Is it possible for me to save the word balloons as a transparent PNG image? If you could add these features, that’d mean the entire world to me. Thank you so much! :)

I’m loving the iPhone version of the Comic Life. The iPhone version is really easy onto use. I’m really happy to see the iPhone app has speedlines and half tones like the desktop version.

I have used this app for years in landscaping design and have enjoyed creating project ideas and documenting, in pictures, progress as the projects evolve. However, directions and help within the app could stand to be improved. Recently, a new problem has arisen that causes the program to freeze when I try to send the documents to anyone else. Very frustrating!

Extremely limited and difficult to use.

Lack of vector support makes this app useless. The features are superb, but the lack of importing and exporting in vector is not adequate.

You don’t share your images the way other apps do so this took me a long time to figure out. Also, you can’t increase the size of your font. People will see your balloon but not be able to read your text. Hard to figure out this app. Not nearly as good as the desktop version. Please update!

This is a awesome app it doesn’t crash, it has great templates, it’s good for comic lovers

This app is my goto, I use it almost daily and have been using it since it released years ago on both iPhone and iPad. Please never stop updating this app or drop a #4. Thx for continuing its updates!

I keep trying to upload photos to my camera roll but they get grayed out or aren’t loading at all. When I try to use the camera to insert photos it works perfectly fine. Also, the drop down menu (the one to add photos, change template, etc.) keeps disappearing. It only reappears when I get out of the comic or insert a text bubble, however, it just disappears again!

It’s quite annoying when you spend an hour with a really complicated hard to use app and then it lags and the whole thing deletes! There are a lot of problems with this that need to be fixed! I would NOT recommend this!!!😡😡🤬

It’s fun to use but it’s almost impossible if you want to make a comic. When you make a certain amount of pages the title gets covered with a unremovable tattoo that makes your comic look terrible

The editing is pretty good, but the app of a loptop has it where if u double tap a picture u can change the texture of the picture. Here you only can change text not images.

The app is good but a person needs lots of work with it To know what to do to produce a good image. I’m into Cartoons mostly.

Excellent templates it does what it says it does. I use it all the time.

When I make comics, the boxes from the next page go to the page before. I want to make a comic where there are 6 boxes a page, but the app makes 12boxes a page. I try to delete the boxes, but there’s no way and I’ve tried everything I can do. Overall, this is the worst app on my Phone. It’s terrible.

Once the incorporate all the features of the desktop version this will be 5 stars for sure. As is totally worth the money though.

I use this app with students in the schools, but also for so many other tasks where I need to assemble images and text.

What does "This 3.5.8 update removes Flickr integration for user protection" even mean?! Could you be any more obscure?

The text creator is so versatile, and with easily-manipulated layers and transparent png support, you can create amazing multi-layered images. There’s a lot of use for this outside of making comics. I wish there was a way we could download more templates.

Having just completed a complex 32-page graphic novel on an iPad with Comic Life 3, I can say, without reservation, that this app. Is one of few that delivers the subtleties and nuances of a desk top app. What a great program! Well worth the 4.99 I paid. I use it for graphic novels, storyboards, posters and flyers.

I got this for my iPad and I'm wondering if it's different on a desktop. I find myself going to the help page a lot and it doesn't always have the answers. I can't figure out how to get PLAIN text outside of a box or balloon. There seem to be lots of features that I am missing. I'm having fun playing around, but I need to sit down and read through the whole help section. maybe things will make more sense and I will update my review.
